MOSES 2
PICTURE 2 01
To lead the way, God appeared as a pillar of cloud in the daytime.
PICTURE 2 02
At night-time, God appeared as a pillar of fire.
PICTURE 2 03
The Pharaoh changed his mind and ordered his army to bring the Israelites back.
PICTURE 2 04
They were trapped, by the sea so Mosesâ said, âDonât be afraid, watch God save us.â
PICTURE 2 05
Then the Lord told Moses, âStretch your rod over the sea and you will go through on dry land.â
PICTURE 2 06
As the Egyptians followed, they were engulfed by the water.
PICTURE 2 07
The children of Israel rejoiced and worshipped the Lord.
PICTURE 2 08
In the desert they eventually found water, but it was bitter, so God made the bitter water sweet.
PICTURE 2 09
One evening God sent a flock of quails for meat and the following morning, they found bread on the ground. They called it manna.
PICTURE 2 10
But the Israelites complained to Moses, âWhy have you brought us to the desert to die?â
PICTURE 2 11
God told Moses to hit a rock with his stick, when he did water began to run, and the people drank.
PICTURE 2 12
When they neared the Promised Land, Moses sent out twelve spies, one from each tribe.
PICTURE 2 13
But when the spies returned, they said the people were giants and only Caleb and Joshua wanted to enter.
PICTURE 2 14
The people further complained to Moses, âWhy has the Lord brought us here to be killed?â
PICTURE 2 15
âYou spied the land for forty days, now you will wander in the wilderness for forty years. Only Joshua and Caleb will enter the promised land.â Thus says the Lord.
PICTURE 2 16
In battle Moses would pray with raised hands.
PICTURE 2 17
As Moses tired, they would support him, as Joshua fought the battle.
PICTURE 2 18
When they reached the wilderness of Sinai.
PICTURE 2 19
They camped at the foot of the mountain.
PICTURE 2 20
Moses climbed Mount Sinai and the Lord told him. âIf you will obey me and keep my law, you will be a special race of people to me.â
PICTUREÂ 2Â 21
Then the Lord came down in fire and the whole mountain shook.
PICTURE 2 22
Next came the sound of a trumpet and God asked Moses to climb the mountain.
PICTURE 2 23
Then God gave Moses the Ten Commandments.
âI am the Lord your God, you shall have no other gods before me.
You shall not make any graven image.
You shall not use the name of the Lord your God abusivelyâ.
âRemember the Sabbath day, and keep it Holy.
Honour your father and mother.
Do not kill.
Do not commit adultery.
Do not steal.
Do not tell lies.
Do not desire anything that belongs to your neighbourâ.
PICTURE 2 24
So Moses went down and told the people the Ten Commandments, the people said;
PICTURE 2 25
âEvery word that the Lord has said, we will do.â
PICTURE 2 26
Then the Lord showed Moses how to make the tabernacle and all of the furniture.
PICTURE 2 27
But the people had become restless and had made an idol.
PICTURE 2 28
When Moses saw the golden calf, he smashed the tablets of stone.
PICTURE 2 29
Moses ground the idol to powder, mixed it with water, and made the people drink it.
PICTURE 2 30
God told Moses to cut two more tablets.
PICTURE 2 31
Then Moses wrote the Ten Commandments.
PICTUREÂ 2 32
Moses didnât know, but his face shone with the glory of God.
PICTURE 2 33
Eventually, Moses completed the tabernacle.
PICTURE 2 34
After meeting with other priests.
PICTURE 2 35
Moses would go into the tabernacle, and meet with the Lord.
PICTURE 2 36
But all the children of Israel did, was complain bitterly.
PICTURE 2 37
So the Lord sent serpents that bit the people and many of them died.
PICTURE 2 38
They were terrified and said to Moses, âWe have sinned, we have spoken against the Lord and against you.â
PICTURE 2 39
The Lord commanded Moses, âMake a serpent out of metal; put it on a pole and it shall come to pass that everyone who is bitten, shall look at it and live.â
PICTURE 2 40
The children of Israel had wandered in the desert for forty years; all had died except Moses, Joshua, Caleb and the children that had grown up.
PICTURE 2 41
Moses spoke to the people, âJoshua will be your leader, and will take you into the promised land.
PICTURE 2 42
God took Moses to the top of the mountain and showed him the Promised Land. At the age of one hundred and twenty years Moses died and God buried him. |
